Lots of god and jesus believers like to say "God/Jesus is truth." But, God/Jesus, just like magic in Jacob Bronowski's "Ascent of Man" - episode 1,  doesn't explain anything. 

Saying "God/Jesus is truth" can't solve any mathematical equation.  "God/Jesus is truth" is as quiet statement as idol statues meant to represent the god of something - of the river, of some animal.  It's an empty do nothing concept. I'll quote some recent discussion I had on facebook,

Some more about Greek mythology before I forget. The statues, or idols, represent some "Platonic Elements" like understanding of nature. This might still not seem interesting, until Sir James Frazer points out in his "The Golden Bough" how people tried to either eat, or wear some aspect of nature; and, by doing so, take on that part of nature's behavior. King of like some Tribal chief wearing a Bear's skull, or feathers, and lots of stuff like that. Making statues of their gods accomplishes the same affect.

 I like to point out "is a" in Symbolic Logic. Suzanne K. Langer, in her "Introduction to Symbolic Logic" points out many different meanings for "Is" that are hidden. She's saying people use the same word for many different concepts.

1 "The Rose is Red" - 2 Rome is greater than athens" - 3 Barbarosa is Frederick I" - 4 Barbarosa is a legendary hero" - 5 "To sleep is to dream" - and 6 "God is" . . . 1 ascribes a property to a term - 2 is about using is as an auxiliary value of asserting a dyadic relation - 3 expresses identity - 4 indicates membership in a class - 5 entailment (sleeping entails dreaming) - 6 existence

The point I'm making is that the "god is truth" idea is like how people use "is" in so many ways that they're not even aware of. It's once again, "Platonic Elements' and, really, flat-earth. Mathematics and mathematical science is about overcoming the flat-earth perspective. This defines mathematics as genius. Genius is overcoming flat-earth conceptions.

As the Laurent Schwartz quote above says, "To discover something in mathematics is to overcome an inhibition and a tradition. You cannot move forward if you are not subversive." 

People are conditioned.  They have an accent, some behaviors.  These are minor and make life fun.  But, people are conditioned to believe things.  The things they believe are social conditionings. Kind of like what our immediate perspective tells us - the Earth is flat.  People have a lot of flat-earth concepts of the world, of themselves, and of people.  We either use reason to overcome conditions, or we just use various flat-earth concepts we are conditioned to believe from birth.

astro video for the day/ ESO - Eyes on the Skies, Hans Lippershey and Galileo


ESO's latest video documentary about Astronomy and Telescopes.

I can't help noting the social science lesson exploring ideas about Hans Lippershey and Galileo.  Hans Lippershey discovered magnification by lenses.  But, he didn't think of applying it to Astronomical research.  Galileo saw it.  

Hans Lippershey is living up in Germany, and Galileo hears about this all the way down in Venice, Italy, sees what Hans Lippershey genius didn't(he at least innovated and saw that he could magnify images by a combination of lenses). 

This historical lesson of science of thinking or not thinking of something is a big clue to Human psychology.  People are always living under un-questioned assumptions and over/under generalisations, and not seeing what's staring them right in their faces.  It's a bit like the 2001 Ape scenes, where the Apes are starving and eating a few nuts and plants, and animals are walking around them with no fear. 

I can't help noting Eric Drexler's "Engines of Creation."  He doesn't need two or three hundred pages to explain his nanotechnology ideas.  So, he fills it with arguing how to not abuse it, which is the correct thing.  He points out evolution in like the second chapter, and then devotes a whole section of chapters at the end, where he points out science courts and hypertext publishing as ways of getting to the facts.  Yes, despite some good chapters on addressing A.I., he doens't think of using A.I. to find the facts, and present people the logical flaws of their arguments. 

And the same thing can be seen with Elon Musk and others arguing over AI. today. There's a lot of facial recognition and emotional A.I., and the only application they can think of is . . . for automobiles.  They don't think of using emotional A.I. say in a court system, and how about finding racist cops.  No, Rana El Kalaby and Rosalind Picsard never think of it, and then up-chuck when pointing these things out to them.

Shamesh is a sungod daughter of El and Asherah.  I don't get into much about El in my gospel of truth, but I do point out a good deal about Asherah. 

2Kings 23 "And he took away the horses that the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entering in of the house of the LORD, by the chamber of Nathanmelech the chamberlain, which was in the suburbs, and burned the chariots of the sun with fire."

Just more proof that the Israelites worshipped sungods; but, some Hebrew priests and Kings ordered no worshipping of sungods.  As the ten commandments says, "don't pattern your gods based on the sun, moon, and nature."  This is essentially saying "don't study the stars and nature."

Hosea 12:9 - And I that am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast. - here, the Hebrew god is from the land of Egypt.

And Hosea 13:4 "
Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me." -  more of the Hebrew god comes from Egypt, and he's your savior, and only savior.




A whole bunch of proof that Jesus Christ is a redo of Egyptian sungod Osirus and Horus.  Bethleham is the "house of bread."

astro picture of the day/ Alvin Toffler's Powershift, fear and evasive langague

This image combines data from the Chandra X-ray telescope and the Event Horizon's image of the event horizon telescope.  The event horizon of M87's central supermassive black hole is like 20 Billion miles in radius I do believe. This is larger than our own solar system. One should't expect to see details the size of a human in these images.



Alvin Toffler, in his "Third Wave" points out the three waves of civilization - Agriculture as first wave, Industrialism as second wave, and the third wave, is the nanotech, and A.I. and information age. The third wave is still coming.

Alvin further associates the three social power levers with each wave of civilization - violence with agriculturalism/ money with Industrialism, and knowledge with the Third wave - whatever you want to call this Third wave civilization.

So, he suggests that the transition from the Industrial era to the "Third Wave" civilization will come with a Powershift from money as the dominant social power lever to knowledge.  I'd say we're still not quite in this "Third Wave" civilization.

Alvin shows how each power lever can substitute for one another.  Force can be used to coerce knowledge out of someone or money.  Money can buy knowledge or a gun, and Knowledge can make a gun or money.  But, knowledge is different because it is comparatively limitless, while force and money are generally finite.

In a true knowledge driven society, people settle their disputes by facts and logic.  When proven wrong, they do so based on facts and logic presented to them. In the past, when someone does something wrong, they either beat the person presenting the facts/logic proving him/her wrong, or pay them off.  They fear being proven wrong, and they use fear and violence, and even money to cover up - might makes right.

We are not in the "Third Wave" civilization yet.  Alvin Toffler points out that one reason violence seems to less used in today's Industrial era, is because it has been packaged as "the law". Behind the law is the threat of violence and weapons. As he points out in his 'Third Wave" book, the worlds nations governments work almost like a business. They tax their people to run their business. What's more, to help drive their economies, all industrial Nations had to resort to imperialism. To sustain their imperialism, they needed a military to ensure the trade lanes.  This is one sign that we are still in the Industrial past.

I would suspect that we won't be in the "Third Wave" civilization till we are in the nano-manufacturing era.  Then, people will make things by their own knowledge, and not have have a job to get the money to get the food.

A lot of scientists like to talk about empathy these days - much like Eric Drexler's disruptive buzzword.

Drexler talks on the one hand of recycling the industrial past, which I agree with.  But, then he says, whoa to those scientists/engineers that might disrupt the economic system because of a disruptive technology.

Empathy is especially used by A.I. researchers these days.  They think that by making empathetic robots, then we'll have good little robots  Kindof like the slave owners who would tell their slaves to be good little people, so they don't rebel and such.

A problem with an A.I. that decides to be empathetic to another's concerns, is what feelings and emotions it takes on. If the A.I. just empathizes with any person it interacts with, it could decide to take the side of some bully or irrational person.

The A.I. community has seen this already in Tay, the twitter chatbot.  Tay even has a wiki about it --> Tay (bot)

The Empathy A.I. community never acknowledges this contradictory thinking of their empathy concept, but I recently thought of a relation between this empathy and my findings on fear of facts/logic proving someone to be wrong.

Well, one more thing about empathy.  Empathy isn't a thing - like an apple, or a rock.  It's a concept, and I'd say it's a platonic concept - like the universe is made of earth, fire, wind, and water.  This is a flat-earth concept.  And, it's a platonic elements like concept that's like those bumper stickers you see on cars "baby on board, don't crash into me."

All my findings about fear, evasive language have been on the side of the person who doesn't want to be criticized, who doesn't want their beliefs criticized.  Empathy is more the physically weak rational person, who in the face of an aggressive non-reasoning person, just decides to take the aggressors side.  Essentially, he tells the aggressive non-reasonable person that he's right, and the aggressive un-reasonable guy goes and lives the rest of his life thinking he won the argument.

I'll go ahead and put up my favorite quote of this evasive language for those seeing this post and my points about fear and evasive language for the first time,

"People swarm everywhere, talking of incomprehensible matters, in hovels, streets and square, marketplaces, and crossroads. When I ask how many oboloi I have to pay, they answer with hairsplitting arguments about the born and the unborn. If I inquire the price of bread, I am told that the father is greater than the son. I call a servant to tell me whether my bath is ready; he rejoins that the son was created out of nothing."

 - To say the least, minus the relation to fear/evasive language, which I only made a couple of days ago!  I can't get the A.I. or any of these scientists to understand my points about empathy. So, we're heading for an A.I. world, and it's going to be an irrational one!

thought for the day - science connections of Jet engines



James Burke's Connections shows how agriculture leads to new concepts/technologies - kind of like how clearing the fields requires irrigation, pest control, and fertilization, and some other similar connections.  In a similar way, the Jet engine comes about from problems of previous technologies.

Propellers can't go beyond the speed of sound.  They break; but, Frank Whittle points out another problem.  The problem of going faster and further requires going higher.  But, going higher means the piston engines loose efficiency and power.

Frank Whittle solution was kind of like enclosing the propellers, to accelerate the airflow into a series of turbines(propellers) around a midsection, where the air is ignited with fuel, and the heated ignites air goes out faster outside of the back. The idea that the reason why Frank Whittle invented the Jet engine is because the propellers break at supersonic speeds must be wrong here!  But, the real reason is the piston engines loose power and efficiency at high altitudes.

- There's also ramjets.  Ramjets only work at hypersonic speeds.   The supersonic air gives the energy to ignite the fuel.  Ramjets are still kind of a work in progress. 

Kind of like the Jet engine going to Germany because Britain and the U.S. didn't show much interest , the ramjet appears to have gone to Russia and China.

I've pointed out some of James Burke's connections in his Connections video series and book. For anyone new, those links are probably no longer any good.  But, anyways, for instance, James Burke points out how in agriculture leads to freeing people to specialize in certain jobs - like being a soldier, or an administrator, or even a scientist.  I'd point out that agriculture's "clearing of the fields" leads to irrigation, pest control, and another technology which I'm always forgetting. Well, in a similar way to how one idealizes a situation and concepts come out, scientists started studying one thing led to lasers.

I think this second short laser documentary, actually, points out this remarkable indirect connection which led to lasers. Townes was studying spectroscopy of molecules, and noticed stimulated emission of the same wavelength photons.

Lasers also led to quantum optics - learning optics that allows laser light to come out of the mirrors when they're in step with one another.

These laser documentaries show that at one time, making a continuous laser, instead of pulse lasers was an accomplishment. Since then, lasers have been advancing more than one can imagine. I thought I'd quote an almost certainly incomplete timeline of laser accomplishments, and already well outdated,

"1960: Ali Javan and William Bennett Jr. develop the first helium-neon laser.
1960: the first phone call is transmitted via laser at Bell Labs. 1962: the first yttrium aluminum garnet laser is developed at Bell Labs. 1964: Kumar Patel at Bell Labs invents the carbon dioxide laser; it is the primary tool in laser surgery. 1964: the Nd:YAG laser is invented by Joseph Geusic and Richard Smith at Bell Labs. 1965: the first tunable laser is developed by J. - I've seen so many crazy laser advances, I can't even remember them all - quasi-crystal lasers.

The ability to control the shape of the lasers. Usually, the lasers come out as a kind of point with sporadic points that thin out the further away from the central point. This is kind of the quantum double slit affect. In the double slit experiment, if you open a slit to the side of where a photon is being shot in, you'll get interference patterns. In lasers, you can see this on a macroscale.

One of the most recent laser advances that I thought was exciting was the use supersymmetric physics theories applied to lasers - A laser system built on principles of supersymmetry
